China's national standard "Biotechnology - Massively Parallel Sequencing - Part 1: Nucleic Acid and Library Preparation" (GB/T 43584.1-2025) was officially released recently and will come into effect on May 1, 2026. Led by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Biochemical Testing, the standard aims to unify technical requirements for key links such as nucleic acid quality assessment, library preparation and quality control, so as to improve the comparability and reliability of sequencing data.

As one of the main drafting units, Cygnus Bio's in-depth participation marks the recognition of its technical strength and quality control capabilities by the industry. Founded in 2015, the company has independently developed four core technology systems, including Fluorogenic Sequencing Chemistry (FLUOROGENIC) and Error Correction Coding Sequencing Technology (ECC), which have significantly reduced sequencing error rates. Centering on these technologies, Cygnus Bio has applied for more than 100 intellectual property rights, completing a full-chain patent layout covering equipment, algorithms, reagents and chips.

In terms of industrialization, Cygnus Bio has built a product matrix covering multiple scenarios: the S-Series gene sequencers (such as GS100HE and GS200) have obtained the EU CE-IVDR certification; the P-Series platform has a single-run throughput ranging from 0.3Tb to 40Tb, which can meet diverse needs from whole-genome sequencing to single-cell sequencing.

From a technological innovator to a standard-setter, Cygnus Bio has achieved a strategic leap in ten years.
